How FBX pricing works
FBX (Fruit Bucks) is FruitPorch's community currency. Here's exactly how an item's value is auto-calculated from the community rate table — a set rate per item, multiplied by quantity.
1. Set rate by produce type
2. AI freshness & quality
3. Quantity & basket size
The simple formula
Listing FBX value = the item's set rate (from the community rate table) × the quantity you list. The value is auto-calculated and locked — AI freshness grading is informational only and never changes the price.
Set rate by produce
The set FBX rate per unit, multiplied by quantity. Anything not listed is 1 FBX.
A couple of examples
- 6 Meyer lemons at 2 FBX each → the basket is locked at 12 FBX.
- 4 Hass avocados at 2 FBX each → 8 FBX, since avocados carry a higher set rate than everyday produce.
Can I change a listing's FBX value?
No. The FBX value is auto-calculated from the community rate table (set rate × quantity) and locked when you publish, so trades stay fair and consistent for everyone. Buyers can still propose a trade or counter-offer.
How do I earn FBX?
Earn Fruit Bucks by completing exchanges, listing surplus harvest, welcoming new neighbors, and helping at community events. Track everything in your FBX wallet.
